Introducing Usage-Based Billing: Soft Limits, No Service Cutoffs
FiveMesh subscriptions keep a predictable monthly base price. Each plan now includes three clear platform usage allowances:
- CDN Storage
- FiveMesh Requests, combining CDN and Cache requests
- FiveMesh Bandwidth, combining CDN and Cache traffic
The individual CDN and Cache meters remain visible in the Billing breakdown, but they no longer define separate customer quotas. A request can consume the shared request allowance once; traffic can consume the shared bandwidth allowance once.
Usage tracking is active. Overage charging is not currently active, and usage recorded before activation will not be added retroactively to an invoice. We have now finalized the FiveMesh Requests overage rate at €1.00 per additional million requests.
There is no automatic CDN shutdown in the middle of an event. Cache does not stop delivering resources while players are connecting. A busy day does not become an infrastructure incident because a counter crossed 100%. That is what we mean by a soft usage limit.
One platform allowance instead of service math
Infrastructure usage is not perfectly flat. A server can have a quiet week followed by a major update, an event, or a surge of new players. Phone media can increase CDN delivery while a resource release increases Cache traffic.
Separate service quotas made that normal behavior harder to reason about. The new model treats FiveMesh as one platform: CDN and Cache contribute to the same request and bandwidth allowances. A customer using only CDN or only Cache gets the full plan allowance, and a customer using both sees one combined total.
The Billing page leads with Storage, Requests, and Bandwidth. Its collapsed breakdown keeps the service-level numbers available for diagnosis without turning them into separate commercial limits.
What each plan includes
All plans continue to include FiveMesh CDN, FiveMesh Cache, and FiveMesh Voice. Server counts, organization capacity, Voice capacity, analytics retention, and other product entitlements are unchanged.

FiveMesh Requests are CDN and Cache requests combined. FiveMesh Bandwidth is CDN and Cache traffic combined. Storage remains the amount stored in FiveMesh CDN.
Overage rates
The retained EUR rates are:

The pricing calculator now uses these three published rates directly.
For bandwidth, the calculation remains simple. If Starter measures 5.4 TB in a future billed cycle, only 0.4 TB is above the included 5 TB:

Billable overage 0.40 TB × €3.00 = €1.20
Estimated total €10.20During the current observation period, the workspace still pays the €9 Starter subscription. The overage is tracked for validation, not added to the invoice.
What changes for existing customers
Customers do not need to change public URLs, FiveM configuration, API keys, or service setup. Existing CDN and Cache event streams continue to power both the global totals and the detailed breakdown.
Existing subscriptions keep their base price and other plan entitlements. The new shared allowances are more direct to understand and are the commercial source of truth once the monitored billing cutover is complete.
